This campaign is played using the original Dragonlance 1st Edition AD&D 1st Edition rules and modules (DL1-DL14).

We are for the most part using the original characters (though some players may opt, upon permission, to make up new characters to join as well).

The following is a breakdown of who is playing what (if you would like to take over one of the NPCs?, PLEASE DO SO!):

  • Tanis (NPC)
  • Tasslehoff Burrfoot (Brennan)
  • Raistlin Majere (Jackson)
  • Caramon Majere (Drake)
  • Flint Fireforge (NPC)
  • Sturm Brightblade (NPC)
  • Goldmoon (NPC)
  • Riverwind (NPC)
  • Tika (NPC)
  • Laurana (NPC)
  • Elistan (NPC)
  • Gilthanis (NPC)

In game session #1, the party (only consisting of Flint, Tas, Tanis, Raitlin, Caramon, and Sturm) had their encounter with "Lord" Toede and his group of 10 hobgoblins. Other than a few scratches (and a major blow to Carmon, and Raistlin being knocked out near death), the rest of the party was unscathed as they fairly quickly dispatched the group of hobgoblins.

Thus ended Session 1.

Session #2 began on May 18th. They found nothing of value (only Tas searched, and he stunk to the heavens after that) on the bodies of the slain. The party then shortly thereafter met Goldmoon and Riverwind. Goldmoon inadvertently healed the wounded with the blue crystal staff. The party did not invite the duo to join them, so they went their way after their song. But they were seen traveling in parallel in the distance as they headed to Solace.

The party came to Solace in the evening and went to the Inn of the Last Home. There they saw the Tika (who quickly showed interest in Caramon). Also Goldmoon and Riverwind reappeared, which triggered a lot of conversation from other patrons at the Inn when they saw her with the staff. The party quickly picked up various rumors. Additionally an old man story teller suddenly approached their table later on, and told them of their fate being to go to Xak Tsaroth.

Thus ended Session 2.

Session #3 should be on Friday May 25th. Hopefully Jon will be joining by then. He is considering playing a (secret for now)......

Check back next week, for the further excitement of "Dragonlance Adventures"!!!... (With echoing campy Batman & Robin 60's voice). ;-)

Session #3. Ran from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm. Friday May 25th.

Jon was unable to get transportation for the game. Hopefully he will make it next week. William (yet again) opted out. Jackson, Brennan, and Drake stuck to it though (that left me with "only" about 5 NPCs? to run).

They wrapped their evening in Solace at the Inn. Spent the night with a good nights rest (for the first time in 5 years). The next morning they made plans to head to Xak Tsaroth. There was some debate about the route to take. Tas wanted to go south (out of the way) through Darken Wood, because he thought there might be "interesting" things to see. The party was generally in disagreement, though Tas did start out initially with a possible argument about not being on the main roads. But then the question was "what are we hiding from?", since there were no pursuers at this point. (Little did they know about the Draconians that would be tailing them.

They ran into an ambush that Tas missed (scouting ahead 700') when the Baaz glided in and attacked. Sturm, Tanis, and Riverwind all were injured in the initial melee. After that things even out quickly, and the party wiped the Draconions out in about 5 rounds. Though Caramon, Sturm, and Tanis were all dismayed to find their weapons embeded in stone upon their killing blows. Drake/Caramon was especially upset until he saw them decompose a few rounds later. Caramon broke his spear, post-melee, trying to pull it out of the stone (he was VERY upset about that). Sturm of course was very irate at first about his father's 2 handed sword, and much relieved when he could get it free.

The party noted a horn blast from the West (were they came from), and though Tas wanted to "inspect" the left over mounds that were bodies, they all opted to scramble East, and get off the roads for a while. After a few miles, with no sign of pursuit, and the foliage becoming too dense to quickly traverse, and the hills becoming steeper, they warily returned to the main road. They crested the summit, and saw off in the distance, lit by the westering sun, distant smoke far away to the North and West at the edge of their sight. They did not know what this portended.

The party planned to spend the night in _____________ but they were greeted by 10 armed men who said strangers could not spend the night. Sturm greeted them and was able to get one of the guards to share that they had been losing their men in the past week, and that there was trouble from the north, but that they had no idea what it was. They bragged that they were 600 strong, and "who could stand against such a mighty force.". Raistlin snickered (not so) quietly at their bravado. The party was escorted South through the town, and a mile further, before the escort stopped (and watched them continue on).

A couple miles later the party made camp in a small copse of trees for the night. Each taking turns in pairs to keep watch. The night was uneventful...

Everyone received their experience points for the previous sessions (totalled 275 each at this point).

Thus ended Session 3.

Session 4 will be next...
